Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto Replenishing Hydrator – review

Hello huns

OMG it’s finally happened, my mum would be so happy as I’m talking about beauty and skincare more and more. Mum I know you read these so I knew as a child you didn’t think this day would ever happen but look at me now.

This blog post is a review about a moisturiser that unless you live in the hidden depths of the Amazon Rainforest you have probably seen advertised, mentioned or talked about. It’s the Clinique 72 hours moisturiser. I’ve been using this moisturiser for a few months now and I’ve completely run out so I thought I would do a little review of it. No one (unfortunately) has paid me/asked me to do this blog post, I have a lot of thoughts in my head so I thought I would share them with you

First impressions

It’s pink. Although I am all for this I thought it was going to give me skin a pink tinge as most moisturisers I’ve used in the past were white. It’s also thick as you can see in the photo below and screams a good quality moisturiser.

Impact on the skin

I’ve been using this moisturiser for just over 4 months everyday and it has just ran out. My skin feels so much softer and although I do have dry skin around my nose still you can feel how soft my skin is and it looks a lot better underneath make-up. Now I’m not blind to the fact I’ve also started eating healthier too but I’m guessing it’s a combination of the two.

Does what is says on the tin?

In a way no. Do you believe any product when it says “24 hour foundation” or “72 hour moisturiser” and if you do, your a fool. If anyone can go 72 hours with washing their face then we cannot be friends. I will say my face doesn’t feel dry and it definitely has given it back some moisture.IMG_0150

Price

This definitely isn’t your budget moisturiser at around £36, depending on the shops you buy it from but it’s also not the most expensive. It lasted me four months and I will almost definitely be buying it again (in fact I’m hoping someone gets it me for my birthday – you can tell your an adult when you ask for moisturiser for your birthday).

Would I buy it again?

I answered this above but yes! I’ve listed a few places that you can buy it from – all varying in prices (I have no clue why). I always buy mine from allbeauty.com if you’re interested.

What moisturiser do you use?

  1. This sounds like a great moisturiser! I love the little pot and yay for it being pink! I think it’s worth paying that bit extra for a good quality moisturiser. I’ll definitely have to check this out when I fancy treating myself. Great review lovely! 💖 xx

  2. I’ve never actually tried this moisturiser as I use the botanics collection but it does sound interesting! My moisturiser is also pink which I found weird at the start too!

  3. I didn’t like this one! I’m a huge huge huge fan of the Moisture Surge range and I loved the original version of this product but this one didn’t quite live up to it in my opinion. I think if I hadn’t used the original I would have liked it more but I can’t see myself buying a full size of this which is such a shame. I love the cool gel texture though, that always feels amazing on the skin x

    1. I’ve seen a few reviews that say the prefer the original one of this moisturiser but I never tried it so I can’t compare. It is very refreshing though

  4. In fact I haven’t used this moisturizer but It seems like a great one..And I like the fact that it lasts for about three months because mine from Dior or Estee Lauder hardly last for a month a way more expensive than this…Thanks for reviewing..❤️

  5. I think I’ll be putting this on my Christmas list this year! I’ve been using Liz Earle for years now, but I want to move on and try something else. This sounds amazing, and I love the fact that it is pink as well. Great review, and I’m glad it’s working for you!

  6. This review made me laugh, I love how honest you are (did it work, “In a way no.”) it’s so refreshing to read the truth, haha. And I 100% agree with you, if you ask for a moisturiser for a gift then you are definitely an adult! My favourite night time moisturisers are my new Frankincense face serum followed by my Origins Drink Up intensive mask. Bonus, they both smell lovely too. Fab review! x

    1. Haha one of my flaws/good qualities I’m often told is my honesty so one thing you will know for sure is I’ll never sell you down the river with a product! Definitely and sad to say I never actually got it!!
Ooo I’ll definitely have a look for them next

      Thank you lovely!
