Pinterest Challenge #2 – Painted Jar (I did it!)

Hello huns

So a few weeks ago I wrote a blog post about how I had collaborated with the lovely Bexa from Hello Bexa (you can read her blog here) and we would be doing a Pinterest Challenge across multiple blog posts. We had set each other 3 challenges to complete that involved completing ideas off Pinterest as you know they look pretty, but they never work out the way to do on the internet.

You can see our first ones here:

My first challenge set by Bexa was to make a baby mobile for my little girl (utter fail) -> Here

Bexa’s first challenge was to make Origami cat bookmarks and she smashed it out of the park -> Here

Pinterest Challenge #2 – Painted Jar

Now Bexa is really testing my creative side here which may I remind you is none existent but I’m proud to say I completed this challenge…HALLELUJAH! I hope you are all cheering at your computer screens and clapping. Yes Computers.. I realised I’m an old lady.

So this was the original link I was provided with and as per usual I put my own twist on it and this was what it was supposed to look like:

First of all I was not forking out money for a mason jar. So my parents gave me one of their jars which is a little bit smaller but it will do the job.

*This item was gifted to me by parents after they ate the contents but all views are my own

The next step was painting the jar. We still had some left over paint from painting Pip’s nursery and I really like the colour, a pretty light pink shade.. I had to do a few coats as the paint isn’t made for glass but it did the trick.

Yes we can all acknowledge at this stage that a child could do this.

I felt at this stage it was even a bit too easy for me so when it was fully dry but this is as creative as I get. Ta-dah it its complete!

It is now a great place for my make-up brushes as I didn’t have one before. It was also a great reason to wash my make-up brushes as they were looking pretty grim.

I’d also like to add here that I keep repeating that a child could have done this. I think that this was the beauty of this challenge as it was extremely easy to turn something so simple as a jar into something useful. If Pip has been older I would have got her to do this with me and maybe one day we can.

So head over to Bexa’s blog to see how she did on her challenge!

Make sure you come back to see how we did on our final challenge.

  1. I LOVE your jar Kay! 😍 The pink is such a gorgeous colour and it was super handy you had some paint left over from Pips nursery. Good thinking! It looks so pretty with the bow and I love that it’s simple and easy to do but looks awesome. Great work girlie! πŸ’– xx
