Get your boobs measured!

Hello guys,

(Sorry this blog is more aimed at girls – but guys if you want to read and educate any girls you know, please carry on reading)

So for a few weeks I’ve been getting sore boobs on a regular occasion and my bras have been doing absolutely nothing for me. When I was 12/13 my mum took me to get my boobs measured and to buy my first bra, a big moment in any young girls life. This happened again when I was 16/17 after I had a sudden boob growth spurt, again amazing.

So now I’m 24 and I can’t rely on my mum to realise my bra is not fitting me, so it was left for me to think what to do. Now I was having some boob-related difficulties I needed to find a way of solving this.
I booked a bra fitting appointment (free of charge) at M&S. These appointments last 30 minutes and the lady is an expert. The lady who did mine knew what bra I needed and refused to sell me any of the bras in the shop apart from a t-shirt bra as they were too old for someone of my age.
If you feel uncomfortable about getting naked in front of a stranger,  then it’s ok as you do not have to take your bra off at all, except to try the other bras on and you can do this in private. This lady took one look at me and said I was wearing the wrong bra size. They get you a selection of different bras to try and you are in and out within 20 minutes with a lot more comfier bra.

So you maybe thinking what’s the point?

  1. A wrong bra size can affect your posture,
  2. Skin problems if the bra is the too tight
  3. Back, shoulder and neck pain
  4. Sagging breasts
  5. Unflattering appearance
  6. Uncomfortable

And there are many more! But we all get that feeling after being at work/school when you come home and just want to take your bra off and get into your PJS? So why make the experience of wearing a bra more uncomfortable?

It’s recommended this a 6-12 month regular check-up. We all know I won’t be going back there for a least a few years so just try and get them done at least once!

I was wearing a white 32C strapless t-shirt bra when I walked into the changing rooms and I came out and bought a 32E (yep enormous) white t-shirt bra. I mean no wonder my bra didn’t fit.

So go do your boobs a favour and get your bra fitted!
